worcester greenstar he plus 30

hi
the heating is taking about 4 hours to get to 20 degrees
it used to do it within 1 hour before....cheers

Do you mean 20C on the room stat? I meant the temp as displayed on the boiler. Is the display flashing -ll- by the way? Sounds like you need to get him back. Did you get anywhere with the gas rating?

Just a thought went to one the other day similar problem the diverter valve motor had come out of position, this could have happened during the service and the installer not noticed it its worth checking!

cheers for the replies. :)
i will do a gas rate tomorrow, is this done via the heating or hot water?
might have to save up and get british gas out :(

Could be due to a circulation problem. Either the pump or a partial blockage of main heat ex
What is the water quality of the system like?

Hold in the chimney sweep button for 10 seconds or so and the boiler will go to the maximum set rating, do the gas rate like this. (make sure the cooker/fire etc are not on too)

You don't have to go to BG, but they do have a fixed-price repair deal costing about £180. You wouldn't pay anyhitng less than that unless you start up a contract. Maybe just get an independant out to diagnose the fault, he'd charge alot less for that and it might be something simple that the other guy messed with...

I know i keep saying, but why don't you get him back??

done a gas rate today, it took 32 seconds for 1 revolution. is this right?
looked at the thermometer next to the thermostat on the wall this morning, it was 17.2 degrees c at 8 oclock(just before heating fired up)looked again at 10 oclock it was 19.5. boiler is now turned up full 88 degrees on boiler display......cheers

Forget about the room stat and your thermometer. Just make sure the room stat is calling and feel the rads compared to the temp on the display. If your displayed showed 88DegC your rads should be more or less that. That gas rate comes out at about 30kw so it's right. Sounds like you've got a blockage/restriction somehwere. You could check the diverter valve but if both heating and water aren't right i'd expect it to be ok.

WHY DON'T YOU GET THE OTHER ENGINEER BACK??

cheers andy for all your advice i will get in touch with the service man :)
