I noticed that sometimes on a cold fire up my Greenstar Ri will switch itself off after a seconds and bang, leave it 10 mins and it starts up fine on its own and run fine, it also seems to bang alot when the room stat stops calling for heat, the banging has got more frequent in last few days. When it does it the boiler vibrates and when I put my hand on the boiler I can feel the banging so it's in the boiler.

My pump speed was set to 2, I pushed it up to 3 and the banging stops and doesn't happen when on speed 3. I cleaned out my mag filter few weeks back.

Does it sound like pump issue or could it just be kettling though I thought that only happened when boiler was on and running?

Cheers
