We've just had the engineer scratching his head for the last couple of hours trying to figure out this little conundrum....
3 months ago we had a Worcester Bosch HE 30 combi installed in the kitchen, along with a wireless Honeywell CM67NG room thermostat in the hallway.
All appeared well - the heating came on and off when the stat programmer told it to. But then we noticed that the boiler's pump remains on even when the Honeywell stat is set to "Off". And it doesn't remain on for a few minutes or hours - it stays on all day.
A worcester engineer came out and said it was down to the Honeywell being incompatible with the boiler and that we needed a Worcester TR2 room stat. He removed the honeywell and bridged the connection and sure enough the pump stopped.
However, the installer insists that the honeywell is compatible - he's installed plenty of this boiler/stat combination before with no troubles - so he's claiming a fault with the boiler itself.
We're left as piggy in the middle.
Here's a few setting on the boiler:
- Heating > Manual > Constant on (other options were automatic and constant off)
- Min. pump overrun - 40s
Here's a few things we've noticed:
- When we turn the heating stat down to "summer mode" - ie, all the way down - the pump shuts off after a few seconds. But as soon as we go above 10C the pump fires up again, even if honeywell is "Off".
If this rings a bell with anyone or if you have suggestions then we'd be really grateful - as would the engineers I guess!
