Hi Chums.
Many moons ago when I didnt know my proverbial arse from my elbow, a friend helped me with the blockwork to build an extension on my first house.
The house had a lot of damp problems and my friend ordered all the materials for me ready for the work.
When we started we decided I uld mix up all the sand n cement for the blockwork and my friend would lay the blocks.
After 3 days i informed my friend that we were about to run out of the cement, he says " Ay run out, we cant of run out theres loads of it" I says "you only bought 6 bags" I then hears "5hitttttttttttttttttttttttt!" .
The 6 bags of grey dust ide been mixing up as cement wasen't £2.50 a bag cement. It was £48 a bag tanking cement
needles to say, I always read the bag now... mark

actually reminds me of a story, experienced labourer mixing cenent foe bedding ridges. He has to use black die in mix and is so determined to get colour correct he forgot to add cement. No one clocked it till afrter they were all bedded and few days later all the mix just fell out leaving tiles sat on roof

On a self build house about 1/2 a dozen friends had a brick laying party, one guy mixed up 2 bags of cement and appropriate amount of sand, piles of the muck were placed in strategic places & the cups of tea were finished. The muck was going off before is could be layed.

The cement was plaster.
