Can anyone help?

Just plumbed my washer/dryer back in after not needing it for the past year (Long story).
Ran it through a 95 degree empty wash to clean any soap liquid off as I did before I unplumbed it a year ago.
All was good to go.
Did a wash and dry and it took the RCD out half way through.
I suspect the dryer element, but washing machines aren't my forte.
Any ideas on things to check?
It's about five years old now but it's never failed before, I don't want to call it a day just yet.
Many thanks

If you disconnect & insulate the cables from the element & then try again it will prove whether the element is faulty or not. Alternatively you could simply megger the element to the frame & see if the insulation is breaking down.

If an element isnt used then it absorbs moisture over time so either the wash or dryer element will be at fault but i agree its most likely the dryer element and it will trip in the wash as the neutral is linked to the wash element
