Hi

Currently have a blue zilmet 18l expansion vessel on our megaflow system. I have been told the diaphrahm is shot and needs to be replaced.

Looking everywhere, i cannot see the blue version, only a red one.

Can anyone please advise of a suitable like-for-like or exact replacement source. Better still, if you can come to CR2 and do the work

thanks in advance

There is a valve on top that you adjust to what ever pressure you need , as you said probably best that you get someone qualified to fit it for you. ;)

Thanks again for your help on that on. All sorted and installed along with replacement prv on the valiant thermocompact boiler.

However another question, the tank in the airingg cupboard still sounds like its filling up with water every 5-15 mins sometimes. The duration is about .10-15 seconds.

I thought this might haven been due to the pressure leak before but changing those parts hasn't resolved it.

Any advice please ?

Thank you

WHat tank is that? A separate one or the "Megaflo"?

If the Megaflo, look for the "discharge pipe". There should be a tundish, which could have water dribbling through it - particularly if the pressure vessel really was bust. If so, you need ot get a qualified bloke in...

Is it really a Megaflo brand or some other unvented cylinder? M's don'r usually have external pressure vessels, they're internal.

Tundish...

Hi
Thanks for the reply.

The tundish is now bone dry , it was dripping until the zilmet expansion vessel was replaced. The tank is an ultrasteel indirect 210 l with the zilmet ultra pro 18l vessel and vaillant thermocompact boiler

found the cure for this, the toilet in the ensuite was dripping a lot. Somehow this has stopped over the last few days and no more filling sounds

thanks

The blue vessel is for boosted cold water, you should have a white one for the unvented cylinder.

If it's the boiler expansion it should be red.

white or blue makes no difference,

Maybe not with some of them, but the color identifies the service it is being used for.

Or should. ;)

very true, what happens when the vessels are red on the bigger potable water unventeds

I have never seen a red vessel on potable water of any size, as they usually have a different membrane.

Talking of which the OP has a megaflow which doesn't have a vessel, so the blue vessel is either boosted water or boiler expansion.

Thanks all, the replacement one is white, the old was blue but it has the exact same model version stamped on its side ???

Sorry.not a true megaflo but an ultrasteel 210l indirect tank
