Zion and the Art of Armageddon

Couple of demo's.
Crowd of Israeli plus senior MP - settle the Gaza Strip. Looked like a large march.

Ramallah. A PA town not a refugee camp. Large crowd "celebrating" 1948. The first Israeli land grab when 750,000 were forced out of where they live. This is the period were a number of refugee camps formed. Yet more in the 50's and 60's.
Many of the people in the crowd were making victory signs - their view on the only way to get things changed,

Filly doesn't seem to be aware of Palestinian police uniforms. Often seen as HAMAS anyway.

The majority of that 750,000 fled because Israel was invaded by 5 Arab nations starting a war that lasted 9 months.

They were using UN vehicles and shooting at Palestinian civilians. That's pretty clear in the video hence why Israel has demanded an explanation from the UN.

LOL. I think i'll express a rather extreme view of how things could be seen.

Israel created the refugee camps that cause them a lot of problems. Their problem yet they sponge off the rest of the world to support the people in them and moan like hell about it.

Your comment. Idiotic due to well known land grabs and the inabliity for the displaced to return to where they came from.

1.5 million Arabs are Israeli citizens, their forbears were smart enough not to leave.

I deliberately omitted that Israel occupied the areas with the camps in 1967 and then proceeded with yet more land grabs. They really were Israel's responsibility then. Still no right to return to where they came from.

The Jewish Insider reports all is not a bowl of Kasha within the knesst of Fascists: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu must commit to immediately seek an alternative to Hamas governance of the Gaza Strip without Israeli civilian control, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said [yesterday]. Gallant hinted that he backed a plan that would see the Palestinian Authority take over Gaza, stating that the alternative government must be led by “Palestinian entities…accompanied by international actors.”

Gallant’s remarks come as the U.S. continues to raise concerns about Israel’s lack of a “day-after” plan, with National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan saying on Monday that “military pressure is necessary but not sufficient to fully defeat Hamas. … So we were talking to Israel about how to connect their military operations to a clear strategic endgame … a better alternative future for Gaza and for the Palestinian people.” Gallant called on Netanyahu to publicly pledge that Israel will not retain military control of Gaza, “even with the possibility of personal or political costs.”

Netanyahu implied in a video response that Gallant was making “excuses” for not completing the task of eliminating Hamas. “I am not willing to replace Hamastan with Fatahstan,” Netanyahu said, referring to the dominant political faction in the Palestinian Authority. “Therefore, the first condition for replacing Hamas with another factor is to destroy Hamas – and to do it without excuses.”

IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi also reportedly criticized Netanyahu for the lack of a day-after strategy for Gaza, saying, according to Israel’s Channel 13, that “as long as there’s no diplomatic process to develop a governing body in the Strip that isn’t Hamas, we’ll have to launch campaigns again and again in other places to dismantle Hamas’s infrastructure. It will be a Sisyphean task.”

If the number of evac's reported from Rafar are correct the plan is working and the US will be happy.

Aid more tricky. Video shows that there is clearly some fuel around in a variety of areas. It will run out if not topped up. Other aid. Still none through the S corridors and not entirely clear through the others. The stuff that is being destroyed appears to have come from Jordan. Signs they aren't happy bunnies and Egypt definitely isn't. Turkey has put a total embargo on Israel. One of the few countries that can cause Israel problems due to what they import off them. Israel is having economy problems part relating to a lack of labourers and also the war.

The end game or lack of it. Looks to mostly be internal Israeli political attacks via their press. The US have expressed their views a number of times. The PA manages all Palestinians in both areas. Their army are only around in certain towns. Refugee camps and some other areas fall under the IDF or Israeli police. It's interesting that one recent land grab was handled by their police with their bulldozers. This seems to show a bit of a change, Indications it's usually the IDF.with the same.

Israel is responsible for security hence the IDF in refugee camps and other areas. This down to the Oslo accord. That hasn't lead to what was expected - a 2nd state. West Bank - More settlements have cropped up also a style of apartheid. The PA aren't popular anywhere.

Some mention that it is possible to negotiate with some HAMAS politicians. Well they did at one point. It's most likely to be their senior members. There are other groups around where that is probably impossible - who knows?

SA have approached the ICC again along with a series of requests. A hearing has been granted in record time. Seems it's this afternoon.

The Israeli military says 15 more soldiers have been wounded in Gaza and near the border with Lebanon in the past 24 hours. Hezbollah earlier said it launched “more than 60” rockets at Israeli military positions in the Israeli-annexed Golan Heights in retaliation for overnight attacks that killed a Hezbollah member who Israel said was a field commander. According to the latest military figures, at least 626 Israeli troops have been killed and 3,494 injured since the outbreak of the Gaza conflict on October 7. (Yesterday, five were killed in a 'friendly-fire' incident by an IDF tank.)

The ICJ hearings will go on for a few more days but in the meantime The Arab League called for a United Nations peacekeeping force in the occupied Palestinian territory...The “Manama Declaration” issued by the 22-member bloc called for “international protection and peacekeeping forces of the United Nations in the occupied Palestinian territories” until a two-state solution is implemented.

The ICJ hearing is over
South Africa wants the court to order a halt to the military operation in Rafah and Israel to allow unimpeded access to Gaza for U.N. officials, organisations providing humanitarian aid, and journalists and investigators.
In hearings on Thursday and Friday, South Africa and Israel each have two hours to make their case on the new request for emergency measures.
There will be no witness testimony and no cross-examinations. The presentation will be mostly legal arguments brought by state officials and lawyers.

I didn't hear much of it just some of a sort of Israeli summation. That contained some signs of have to crack eggs to make an omelet arguments. Can't see that relating to justification in terms of what the action is about. Then what a load of rubbish SA's actions and claims are. SA is a friend of HAMAS. Aid more interesting, Naming a recent day when 360 trucks went in. Pass on that as complaint from several sources is a lack of consistency. Fuel mentioned - video does show that is getting into all areas. The counter - it will run out. The UN have said they will monitor everything that does go in also in detail so suppose the judges have access to that. Hospitals are fine. Also some field hospitals. Israel doesn't have zones where people in them get shot. Rather weird as they have more or less said they do.

Israel has been given limited time to provide a couple of answers to questions. One was asked by one of the judges. Unusual, it seems.

Nothing seems to be coming out of Rafar. Bit of a rumour that Israel is moving further in. Could be that we will find out when the plan has worked and the entire area has been attacked. BBC mentioned this piecemeal approach but no mention of where the info was coming from. Might be suspicion ;) just like me as given the number of evac's US are likely to be happy. UN says the numbers are increasing. Latest 600,000 if I remember correctly. The area they are going to based on a video is very crowded.

Israel has killed more than 13,000 children in Gaza since October 7 while others are suffering from severe malnutrition and do not “even have the energy to cry”, says the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

Alexandra Saieh, head of humanitarian policy and advocacy at Save the Children International, said the official number of children who have died of malnutrition amid a growing famine in Gaza likely under-represents the true scale of the tragedy.
