A group of far-right Israeli politicians and settlers met in parliament this week to discuss a plan to displace Palestinians from Gaza, annex the territory and turn it into a hi-tech, luxury resort city for Israelis. The scheme, titled “The master plan for settlement in the Gaza Strip”, envisions the construction of 850,000 housing units, construction of hi-tech “smart cities” that trade cryptocurrency and a metro system that runs across the territory. It took its inspiration from an idea shared by the US president, Donald Trump, in February, where he pledged to turn Gaza into the “Riviera of the Middle East”.

“The right of the people of Israel to settle, develop and preserve this land is not just a historical right – it is a national and security obligation,” the text of the plan said, boasting of economic benefits that it would bring to Israel.

The plan, seen by the Guardian, would require Gaza’s existing population of about 2 million to be emptied out. Legal experts warn that forcible displacement on such a grand scale would be tantamount to ethnic cleansing.

“This is a plan for ethnic cleansing. Under international law, this would amount to a crime against humanity because deportation is a war crime when committed on a small scale and a crime against humanity when it is committed on a massive scale,” said Michael Sfard, one of Israel’s leading human rights lawyers.

It's always been their plan, they've just been waiting for an excuse to kill all Palestinians and claim their ancient land for themselves.

Most Europeans will probably boycott it, but many Americans will flock to it like a new Mecca.

Well my opinion is that it is a brutal war and not a popular one amongst people. Peoples attitudes have changed over the years and now instead of just hearing and simply reading reports on them, it is now common for people to actually watch them on social media. Actually seeing buildings been blown up and casualties on stretchers is more heart wrenching than simply reading about it. Hamas has played upon this and has an amazing propaganda division. I think a lot of reports are based on pulling at peoples heart strings, that said there has been some damming images and video that I have seen that makes me question my support.

So under what circumstances would you form the opinion that the policy and practice of a country and its army were racism and genocide?

Would you agree that in Europe in 1939-45 there was a brutal war? That watching news reports is emotional, and the Israelis have taken care to publish plenty of pictures and have an amazing propaganda division? Do you think their images are intended to pull at your heartstrings?

I can remember the days when holocaust deniers who said they knew nothing about genocide were frowned upon. Now it is a tactic used by apologists for Israel.

I think it is best leave the legal terminology of genocide to the human rights lawyers and military officers. I find it disturbing what is happening and there are some questionable antics by both sides. Reports of the IDF snipers shooting children is not something I believe is happening. Israel is at war with hamas not the palestinian people, the only palestinian people that they are against would be hamas sympathisers.

I cannot accept that anyone could so evil to do such a thing, I have worked with lots of snipers and although they are a different breed when it comes to taking lives, they have a sense of pride about their kills which are actually very skillfull. To put a child in your sights and pull that triggerr and feel anything of pride is not something I could imagine as any sniper could do. I stand to be corrected if this is the case but I wouldn't listen to anything so obscene.

I am going to do some digging into this as this report is very daming but with vague details. I am hoping I find it to be an assumption rather than a fact. If it is true then I could not support anything so barbaric

A child is classified as anyone under 18 years old, so when we are saying the IDF snipers are targeting children, I am thinking a child is equally capable of shooting and killing soldiers as any adult is if they have a rifle or pistol in their hands.
