one plumber says i need need 2, the other 1. i have UFH in the kitchen running off a combi. the system has its own flow/return feed to boiler. any ideas why there are 2 answers and which one is right. or are both answers right.

It depends how it's plumbed, and whether you want to control them 100%independently.
 
i'd probably guess at one valve closing the rad side of heating and the other the ufh. so if you want either on or off you will need 2 mzv one for each side

saying that...the ufh comes with its own stat/programmer
