Guys in bit of a pickle and need some help.

Got a roofer to do the our porch roof but he ran in to some difficulties during the job hence could not continue. He sent someone else to complete the job and asked me to pay him directly for the work he did. He is asking me to pay him for the initial (preparation work) he did.

I enquired about what work he did and below is what he wrote to me.

Removed the battens and under felt.
Removed the shallow pitch timber tressels and main wall supports avoiding damage to the porch ceiling and surrounding external walls.
Remove old breeze blocks on the side wall
Cover and secure the exposed roof space with the plastic membrane at the end of each visit to minimise water ingress.
Calculated, measured and cut all timbers to size and correct angles.
Do relevant Joinery to make a robust roof structure to receive new tiles with an adequate overhang ready for the fascia and soffit boards.
Built up new breeze blocks, and cut to size where necessary at the correct pitch of the new roof.

I would appreciate if someone could give me indicative price to do the above work? If price is a challenge then perhaps estimated time required to do above so I could pay his share for the work he did!
cheers

Its not bloody 20 questions you know!

How about you show us some before photos, show us site access etc, how did it look when he'd done his bit etc? Then tell us what he wants to charge and we'll comment on that!

What difficulty! did he fall off his ladder and break a leg

If he did, i did not see it and he has not sent me the bill for that
Anyway i never asked what his personal problem was, neither i was bothered!

OK, yes enough of the childish antics, sorry.

I would expect you to be charged £8423. I have assumed your porch is quite big.
