Intergas...but which...

Well.....this thread did not develop exactly how I expected it to......it seems I opened the can of worms I was hoping to avoid....

Who are you to be giving me orders?
Sound advice me old son. Take it onboard as you have all to gain.
Now - are you going to back up to assertions on my experience and knowledge of products outside the Intergas range?
I am sure you do know something of other makers products, but I doubt in any depth. You rarely have a good words for most of them with most words insulting towards them and insults towards anyone who says give them a look.

As I wrote. To me it is a close thing between the Intergas and Ferroli Modena. I would advise people to check both out. The Ferroli Modena has a model, the 38C, that can give 16 litres per minute in hot water delivery, which is quite impressive. The 32C gives 13.1. The 32kW Ferroli gives the same hot water flow rate as a 36kW Intergas. The intergas range cannot get give more than 13 litres per minute. If hot water delivery is important then the Modena gets a big nod. The Intergas has a built-in weather compensator, as does the Ferroli, and built-in advantage of the RF, etc, on some models, if those functions are needed. The Ferroli tends to be cheaper to buy anyhow.

At what deltas?

I have little to gain from you. Thanks all the same.

Experience son. Everyday is a school day, even after what is rapidly approaching 18 years in the industry. Plus 3000 odd customers; some for going back more than 30 years with my company. give me plenty of range. Not to mention the myriad of training courses I attend.

Come on guys.....let's just drop it.....it does no one any favours.

I appreciate the debate.....but....

Agree to disagree and move on......

My question was answered.....I think.....somewhere....so let's close the thread.

Just looked - 3033 customers on the active database, 1000 in the dormant database (thought there were more than that, btu who cares).

Oldest boiler we had was a Ideal Domestic #3 circa 1945. Now relocated to an Ideal training centre and replaced with an Intergas (obvs).

Oldest working boiler is going to one of a number of Ideal E-Types. We did have a Vulcan Continental, btu its has not been seen for a number of years as I suspect the owner has shuffled off this mortal coil.

Have a fair few Sine's and Thermocompacts still running.

At what deltas?
35C. The Intergas cannot get near.

Believe me I have far more experience at these matters than you. Bernard also got it right as well when he picked up on it. Castigating the opposition with insults gets you nowhere. Take it onboard and apply it. You have all to gain.

Some tradesmen have told me they have 20 years experience in doing something as a way of proving they are superior in some way. What they mean is 3 months experience repeated 79 times.

The problem is many drag it back with ad hom attacks or insults of rival makers products, etc. Then the inevitable, "I have fitted lots of boilers mate, so I know it all". And this one a few posts up. "Now care to elucidate on your qualifications to second guess the professionals?" The man is cornered so these come out.
Very childish. Boilers are not rocket science. In fact the two under question are very simple.

No. The thread moves on.

I'm more than aware and comfortable with shortfalls in knowledge.... You've yet to find them though and trying to give yourself an air of authority whilst remaining anonymous is not going to work.

Like I said. You don't have any idea what experience I have with other products despite assertions earlier.

Dan, I have an engineering background and a university degree, not that I need to justify anything to anyone. The two boilers in question are simple. Anyone with an engineering background can assess them well with a bit of reading of specs etc. If we met someone so un-objective as you, we would immediately dismiss you as some sort of crank. You may not be that way in real life. Take onboard what I wrote. It is rather general and not related to Intergas or Ferroli or how many GasSafe tickets you have. Anyway I am off to watch the togger.
