Hiya, I have had a look at the service valve on the toilet, and I assume to have "full" pressure the screw head will sit at 12 o'clock? vertical, I have looked at the current position, and the screw head is at 2 o'clock, if I proceed to turn it anymore, I will simply stop water entering the loo?

Yep he fitted a new ball valve, and also had to replace the fitting (from cold water pipe into base of cistern) Shall I try reducing the service valve?

Hi Beerlover, when the plumber came today his initial thought was the diapragm, but the pin thingy (I am not a plumber!) comes out and makes contact with the switch on every occasion (even when the boiler does not provide hot water? does this change your diagnosis?? Thanks for the reply!!

Hi, you guys have helped me before, anyway I have had 8 months trouble free..............until today. The fault is thus, when I ask for hot water, it either supplys hot water no problem, or will initially provide hot water, then the bolier will cease firing up,so then cold water is provided, or...

Dave Not sure if this helps............checked all the rads, one of them in the second bedroom was cold on one side (opposite side where you bleed it) so bled it, there was air in there, once the air was out, black(ish) water started to come out :shock:

Hi Alpha 240p, fires up but only for 4 mins at a time, should i ask the plumber to replace the thermistor only, or the limit switch, or both?

Hi, when asking the boiler for heating, should the boiler fire up then continually stay fired up, until the room stat temp is reached? or should it fire up for 3 mins at a time in an on/off sequence?
