Cheers jason.. so you reckon a rubi t70 might be ok for the straight cuts?... but if i do get a plug socket in the middle of a tile, what do you reckon? I obviously don't really have a clue, but an angle grinder seems like it might be a bit risky... do you reckon i could hold the tile...

    Tiling on emulsion?

Hi i have just been offered a job tiling a bath with a shower attachement. The problem is the wall around the bath is emulsioned. Tiling Up To A Hardwood Fllor

hi i'm no expert as my name suggests, but here's a few ideas. The wood will definitely expand and contract, so if you were to use grout then you should use flexible grout... the type you use with heated floors... hoperully you should be alright with that. alternatively you might use an...

    Mozaic picture

in future thought i think the real answer is to use a 3mm trowel to avoid so mouch adesive oozing everywere, also if you use a product where the grout and the adesive looks the same (i think bal do one)... then you avoid having to worry about picking out the grout in the first place

    Tiling on a sandy wall

If you hired a kango you could get the whole lot off extreemly quickly. As for the stabilising solutions, to be honest i don't know, it might be a case of following manufacturers instructions and hoping for the best!

    replaster or lining paper?

I think the re skimming will give you a much better finish. I have done some extensive re plastering and damp proofing and have found that plaster sadly does often show hairline cracks after drying. The answer i found was to wait a few weeks till all the cracks have appeared and then buy a tube...

    Tiling on a sandy wall

It sounds as if that cement needs to come out. I am not an expert but if you tile on top of it you are gluing the tiles to sand, which is why they came off in the first place. if you put pva on it (don't by the way) then you are sticking your tiles on to a thin sheet of unsitable primer attached...

Creaking floorboards - how to fix

This may sound like a joke, but i read in a diy book that creaking floorboards can be cured by putting talcum powder inbetween the the boards where they rub together. Also screwing them down into the joists will help (but make sure you get a pipe detector first about 10 quid fron B and Q
