I notice Ikea are now doing appliances in a bigger way than before.

Apparently the ovens are made by Whirlpool or Electrolux but in the case of Whirlpool, its made in Italy not the States.

Having googled the subject, there seems some dissatisifed customers who have probems getting the things repaired....

So I guess the question is - are Ikea ovens etc any good

:)

Ikea sold only Whirlpool products until fairly recently. Now they have Electrolux onboard (which covers AEG, Zanussi, & Electrolux brand names). I may be biased but I think I would choose Electrolux before Whirlpool if I had a choice. But it really is a lottery these days :(

thanks for reply - there seems a wall of silence regarding these Ikea appliances  that must br either cos theres no problems with them or no one is buying them :)

Don't know anything about a wall of silence. Ikea only supply the kitchen, they play no part in the manufacture of the various appliances that come with it. They are simply a big buyer...big enough to get the Ikea logo on everything they buy. Many Whirlpool appliances are manufactured in Italy, some are manufactured in other countries.
