Advice required

when trying to select a programme it will not start or latch onto the selected programme

Need more information to work on please.
What happens when you shut the door etc? Any flashing light(s)?
How many flashes?
The more information you can provide the better the chance of an answer.

when machine is plugged in and you close the door-you would then select the programme you want, but it just doesn't latch onto your selected programme-no flashing lights.
