I have a baxi back boiler that has a simple progammer for hw and ch
there is no room thermostat can i fit a wireless thermostat
which is the best method

Probably the easiest method will be to mount the receiver of the wireless thermostat next to your existing programmer. You will need to connect a permanent live and neutral from the programmer to the thermostat receiver to power it. Then connect the CH ON output of the programmer to one output contact of the receiver. The other output contact you connect back to the wire that was connected to the CH ON output of the programmer. You have thus inserted the thermostat control in series with the CH output of the programmer.

This description applies only to units with volt free output contacts, but that is the vast majority of thermostats.
