Hi, does my boiler have to be on its highest setting to be most efficient, I a potterton profile for LPG.

Condensing boilers should be run at the lowest setting that works effectively, which may mean the lowest setting most of the time but higher in winter. Older boilers (like yours?) it doesn't matter so much.
