Can you join a 10mm Electric Power Cable for a Shower?

A plumber has been to my house and fitted a 10.5k shower inn. He has wirerd the shower up and fitted it to a pull switch, he then has gone from the pull switch to a brown oval coupling box to join the 10mm wire. Then he as wiered it to the main triple box. AS this plumber done the job right?

I thought that he should of used a continues 10mm wired from the pull switch to the mains box.

i have no camera, but it was one of them but in brown.

Box about 8" wide, 6" tall that says wylex on it, and has a removeable cover with a thumnscrew that says fuses on it?
