Hi,

I have a Memera 21 consumer unit with a spare 45 amp MCB which I plan to use for a cooker supply (7.2kw oven), the cosumer unit has an ELCB combined on the main supply switch, my question is do I have RCD protection?

Thanks

Possibly. What is written on the device? Does it have 30mA or 100mA on it?

Are you sure this oven is 7.2kW - that would be huge. Or do you mean a cooker rather than oven?

Like this?

Then yes, you have RCD protection, you can tell if it is 30mA, 100mA etc by looking at the rating on the device.

It is like that...30mA

Its for a range cooker and it's 5.2kw not 7.2 (sorry).

One thing about the consumer unit is that it has a max loading of 80 amps but has MCB's totalling more than that figure (similar to the picture which appears to have more than 100a???)

Thanks for the swift replies.

80 is the max current.
Adding the mcb ratings will nearly always be higher than 80 if you have a shower or cooker , but not always a problem.

What are the circuits you already have , to try to access the load.
