Diplomat Gas Oven Door

I have just moved and inherited a Diplomat gas oven. It seams that excessive heat is escaping from the top of the door. It appears that the door does not close tight and the seal has a gap at the top in the middle. I cant see how to either make the door close tighter or replace the seal to completely cover the top. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? TIA.

Thanks for the info. Still seems like a lot of heat going to waste. I suppose it's an oxygen thing.
