:( Hi - it has only just started to happen. I have quite an old Micromark dehumidifer which is brilliant. Very effective and I would be lost without it. I empty the large opague plastic tank at least once every few days and the water and the container have always been white and clean looking. A few days ago I noticed the water bottle looked black inside, mainly below the input hole and on that side. Last night I was shocked at how black it now looks. I left the water in and topped up with bleach but it didn't seem to do much. I rubbed a piece of kitchen towel around the neck and just inside the bottle and it was black powder, almost like black powder paint. The water is clean, it is just the surface of the container both above and below the water line

The filter is clean. I am worried about mould spores being blown out of the air outlet as it has an air intake grill one side (with filter) and a blow out side if you know what I mean.

Has anyone ever come across this ? My breathing isn't good at the best of times.
