Hi

I am fitting spotlights in my bathroom, lounge and kitchen. The spotlights say that they should not be earthed, this means then that I do not conect the earth on the switch, is this safe and correct.

I have purchased IP65 mains lights for the bathroom and normal spots for the other two rooms.

Thanks in advance

Ian

I personally try to avoid using downloighters that do not at least have somewhere to secure an earth wire.

Always connect your earths, you might not need one for the fittings you are using, but cut it off and the next person who wants metal switches/fittings has either got a bit of a job on their hands or just wont bother earthing at all (as is often the case  )
