Hi re the saga of my pool heater. :D

Just spoken to my plumber and informed him that the gas pipe needs to be 35mm...his reaction:

"Christ 35mm! I haven't a clue whats its going to be but it will cost an arm and a leg....."

Anyone else got a clue? ....Approx 25 metres of gas pipe 35 mm in dia suitable to be buried!

I wont hold you to it!

£3 -4 a metre :?:

Why not phone local plumbers merchants for a true price, as only retailers will know exactly. ;)

Cheers Chaps for lightning fast answers....BTW shouldn't you lot be at work or is it true what they say about plumbers being overpaid! ;)

Interesting topic.

Who decided on the 35mm.
Boiler ouput 250.000btus heat exchanger?
25m pushing your luck a tad I should think.

Post the boiler output please, and if its going surface or underground (32mm)

Next problem your plumber won't be able to do the job unless he has the industrial ticket .

Price you could wave good by to a grand by the time its tested etc.

I've left the boiler details at home which is very annoying but when I get home tonight I'll post it .
Both the pool suppliers and the specifications recommend 35mm pipe.
We have had to have a separate meter installed by Transco specifically for this project. (It only took them 8 months!)

It's a semi-concealed meter and the run is a maximum of 25 metres (at a guess probably closer to 20 metres) The gas pipe will run undeground from the meter then pop up through the concrete floor of the pump room and continue for about 4 metres along the inside wall to the boiler.

"Post the boiler output please, and if its going surface or underground (32mm)" The boiler is sitting on a ventilated concrete plinth and the heated water will return to the pool underground 1.5 inch ABS pipe. Is that what you mean :?:

I'm told the installer requires a HWB1 certificate.

This is the heater:

All that I need to find out now is where to get the flue assembly from.

Doitall you arent far wrong mate the one guy who quoted was closer to 2 grand but that included digging the trench et al.

Alot of this saga is also under the following threads:
