Gas pipe cost per metre.

so total distance counting bends is approximately 35m

Chris comes in with the chart I sent him next he can tell you if it will pass 7M³/hr or if it needs 2" plastic

50m coil 32mm mdpe approx £25
2 hockey sticks approx £ 7
2 sleeves " £26
Fittings each end " £30

All plus Vat. + copper to boiler.

Or go for SS tracpipe about £10.50/m dunno whether you can get 25m coils tho.

32mm almost certainly too small, next size is 50mm

Next size in my book, mdpe is 63mm about 3x the price
Next size tracpipe is 40mm about £15/m
One thing about the tracpipe you can go from boiler to meter without joints.

It would seem that 50 mdpe is no longer availabe so 63mm is has to be as 32mm is nowhere near large enough.

Trac pipe would be ok in 40mm but never used the stuff so cant comment

Thought it was in the new re-asses, bl**dy expensive, but then It's supposed to save on installation time. (that's the selling pitch anyhow)

There seems to be special Tracpipe (with its own sleeve) to use underground. (even more expensive?) Standard yellow plastic coating is maybe not suitable for burial.
Also, is TracpipePS certificated for UK / Europe use?

In that case its 63mm pe, both ends in the ground can be converted to 40mm steel, from the meter can be 42mm copper and to the boiler can can be 35mm copper.

So from meter 42mm copper
into the ground and the first 1m 40mm steel.
in the ground 63mm pe
from the pe to the last 1m and out of the ground 40mm steel.
from the 40mm steel to the boiler 35mm copper.

Acs requirments.

COCN1 OR CCN1 CHANGEOVER CoDNCO1, CIGA1, ICPN1, ICAE1, TPCP1A

DIA i dont know the prices but wouldnt galv wrapped be cheaper :?:

I would prefer to doitall in galvanised right from the meter.

40mm would be ok over that distance, and obviously the trench would need to be straight ish

cheers m8 ;)

Guys what has happened to my 35mm pipe?

Do you not think it man enough now?

Surely the specs cant be wrong?

Cost would probably workout more with steel tube.

BES do a roll of 63mm pe for less than a ton plus gordons cut.

Lovely thanks, Guys I really appreciate all the advice. I've printed off your suggestions/ recommendations and am meeting up with the plumber this week. I will pass on the info and see what he comes up with.

I'll post again with some photos! :D
