I was talking to a guy the other day who used to do allot of work years ago and he had his 15th edition qualification's etc. As we all know its all changed since those days but he was saying what would he now need to be able to get full NIC reged again.

I was thinking he would need to do the 16th edition course (2 full days at a center) then the Inspection and testing (3Days at a center) would he also need to do his part P also ?

Whats your thoughts guys, what did you every other spark do came Jan 2005 ?

Cheers

He should ask NICEIC, if that's who he wants to rejoin, but he may find it a cynical and devalued organisation compared to his day.

Yup, if he thinks 2 days is enough.

then the Inspection and testing (3Days at a center)
NICEIC don't require 2391. NAPIT do. Not sure about any of the others.

Is he looking to become a domestic installer, or a registered contractor?

Here are links to the requirements of some of the competent person schemes:

Part P is not a qualification....

I think a lot of them just carried on regardless....

When you say "a guy you was talking to the other day," do you mean in the same way that I wrote to the agony aunt of The Sun newspaper recently. I asked for advice for "My Friend" who had a nasty little rash?
P.S "My Friend" was very pleased with the advice and can now get a permanent live
