Halstead Quattro Gold - CH working but no hot water

so, does it actually activate the microswitch, does it click ?

does it light ?

if not, have you tried linking out the switch ?

have you put a meter on the switch connections ?

Well I've no real experience other than what I have read on forums, but I'll try to answer:

Yes the switch does click and the burner does light. It sounds like it normally would when running hot water (even without the CH on)

I don't know what 'linking out' the switch means and don't have a meter to test the switch connections. I guess I'm just trying to gain as much insight into the problem for when a heating engineer comes out to it (my friend has been called away, so I'm having to call-out someone else!)

Is the switch the most likely source of the problem?

the switch is not the problem then.

so the boiler lights & you get no hot water whatsoever ?

does it stay alight ?

Yes, it stays alight (but only get barely warm water) until I turn the hot tap off then dies within a second. Any other ideas?

Just in case anyone else is having this problem:

Mine was resolved by replacing the Ignition PCB (the 3rd part they tried replacing!)
