you may welded the contacts A-B together when you blew the fuse, use a multi meter to see if you have continuity across A and B with the power turned off.

Yes. Remove the link A to L.

The only link there should be is L to L.

Wire it in accordance with diagram B.

Is diagram B for wiring direct to the boiler, I am connectting to valve via the junction box should I connect via dia C? if so is brown equilvant to the old white

you need four cables for your reciever, dont assume the colours mean anything trace them back to the wiring centre,

permanent live to L in reciever

permanent neutral to N in reciever

no link between L and A

output from "ch on" in programmer to A in reciever

B in reciever connects to white if you have 3 port valve

or brown on ch 2 port valve.
