how stupid?

I'm not at all surprized that some people can be so stupid. My father was a secondary school science teacher until 1984 and he had noticed with some dismay the gradual dumbing down of science, both in schools and on TV programs like Tomorrow's World. It's got a lot worse since then.

A rudimentary knowledge of chemistry would have told these unfortunate morons what would happen if they lit a glass tube full of petrol - and a rudimentary knowledge of physics would have told them that they were barking up the wrong tree altogether. What they really needed was a miniature particle accelerator in the handle!

Or, they could have just gone to ThinkGeek.com and bought ready-made light-sabres.

What's so special about Hemel? Well, it has one of the few magic roundabouts in this country (a roundabout with mini-roundabouts all round the edge, making it a two-way roundabout). That's all I can think of about it.
