We moved into a new house in 2003 fitted with the Icos HE24 boiler. In summer 2004 the boiler broke down and was fitted with a new pump. 2 system flushes, 10 pumps and various other parts were fitted until summer 2006 when the builder and Ideal boilers eventually agreed to replace the whole boiler. Almost a year to the day, the bolier again broke down this summer. We have had 4 pumps fitted since august and paid for in independant heating engineer to flush the system. Our boiler has broken down yet again and we are waiting british gas coming back to fit yet another pump. Meanwhile we are without heating and hot water. British gas now take the view that they will no longer supply us the breakdown cover. We are at a total loss as to what to do. Can anybody Help??????

if it has had this many pumps you must have a very poor system design ,any good engineer should be able to advise on rectifying the fault, ask bg why the system is defective and get a quote to put it right

From my unfortunate position as an Ideal approved installer this is quite normal for their boilers

My problem now is that even though I have nothing to do with them, they keep on insisting on giving my name and number out to customers that call them asking for a local engineer

OP, have it taken out and have a Vaillant installed ;)
