Why the need for these?

"Sajid Jabid today revealed the Government has bought hundreds of thousands of game-changing pills to treat Covid that infected Brits can take at home this winter."

"Officials have bought 480,000 doses of molnupiravir, an antiviral made by US pharmaceutical company Merck and 250,000 courses of PF-073 from Pfizer, the drug giant behind the vaccine currently deployed for the UK's booster drive.

Officials did not disclose how much the Department of Health paid but American health chiefs spent $1.2billion (£869million) on 1.7million molnupiravir pills this summer. If the drugs are priced the same in Britain they are likely to cost around £250million — even though they are thought to cost just £12 to make. "

So less than £10m worth of drugs will cost the tax payer more than 25 times more than cost price...

The rip off continues!

"The drugs are pending approval by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA)"

"Pfizer's treatment — a combination of an experimental antiviral and ritonavir, which is usually used to treat HIV — has yet to finish clinical trials."

And so the human experiment continues...

Sadly there will be many foolish takers!

Antivaxers.

And whilst the vaccines are very good, there are some conditions which mean they aren't effective. For those people the artificial antibodies are a potential lifesaver.

They should start using them chemical war fare type suits in the winter

every one gets issued with one and has to wear it when going out

although if you have school age children u would be obliged to wear one in doors

those living alone would be exempt

Because some idiots haven't had the jab, and when they are in hospital gasping their final breaths, they are pleading for treatment to save them.

Also, immunity doesn't last forever, and the antivaxxer twits are still putting people off getting boosters etc.

Basically, it's your fault we need this medicine.

They're only good for something like 48 hours and you sweat like Trump in a divorce hearing.

transam is on the ball ref sweating

I said winter months

any way the country is full of fat
****s so a bit of weight loss will be of benefit :ROFLMAO:

Apparently the UK is one of the the most jabbed nations, and yet currently apparently has one of the highest rates of infection...

Care to correlate those figures?

Simple - more people not wearing masks, mixing in close contact with others.
Don't you pay attention to any news or anything?

Edit: And I note that no-one cares to comment on the 25x mark up on the drug cost

is that 25x the manufacturing cost?

that’s not the same as cost to market.

how long is the patent for
What was the developments costs
What was the set up cost to develop manufacturing facilities
What contingency is there for law suits

But given the fact that the vast majority of people are protected by their natural immune systems from severe symptoms of the 'virus', why add another untested drug to the cocktail?

What do you 'doctor' sons say to this?

Incorrect figures Ellal $700ish for a course, not for a pill.
Not 25x, but up to 40x. But so what? Not unusual.

Well, you need to use both your "brain" cells to work that out.

Are you vaccinated?
Nope (y)

So you're happy to be ripped off, and happy to do so again when the next drug comes along in six months time?

Be great to see the exact difference between these 2 drugs .

The new one is a viral mutagenic - it interferes with the RNA to stop it replicating, they say. None of the proposed mechanisms for Ivermectin do that.

I don't know how happy I am to take a mutagenic anything...
