loud banging noise

we have a potterton suprima 40 which is about 3 yrs old and just recently been serviced.the problem is during the day and night it makes such a loud bang when the boiler flares up sounds like in the pipes and you can hear the sound of water like its bubbling or boiling but it doesnt do all the time weve turned the boiler and combi temp down checked theres no air in rads and they are fine can anyone please help thanks

there is a screw on the heat exchanger try unscrewing slightky untill water comes out

Do you have a manual ?

have you checked that the pump is running?

it may be stuck and not circulating the water?

we only have an electrical manual and it says nothing about a heat exchanger

There should be an installation manual which should have been left with the boiler. I'm noit sure what you mean by an electrical manual

The heat exchanger is the finned thng above the combustion chamber which conve4rts the heat from the gas flames to heat in the water
