P over and above his political beliefs, and now he is attacking that party, and its political agenda

So according to you, Austin Mitchell is virtually a Tory.

I wonder why he is a member of the Socialist Campaign Group, a hard left group. John McDonnell is a member.

Oh dear Wannabe has got it wrong, yet again :ROFLMAO:

The article by Austin Mitchell is well reasoned and pretty accurate.

Wannabe might want to explain where it veers off into eccentric.....oh thats he cant because it doesnt

Very good ! very good ! you've clearly admitted trying to use a v silly long user name !! ....you silly silly boy .....Any normal person wouldn't discover there's a limit to the number of letters allowed !!!

Yes he has no need to try long usernames, a 4 letter one would be the most descriptive, for ease it starts and ends with the same letter :ROFLMAO:

Not quite as long as the v silly long username that you have used.
How long did it take you to put those words together? It loos like it took you about an hour and a half. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Meandering :ROFLMAO:

I quoted directly from the article.......zero meandering

Poor old George......
Carefully chosen quotes to support your meandering argument.
However the gist of the rest of the article shows how:
"The party and I (Austin Mitchell) have never agreed on much".

Poor old George......
Ad hominem attack.
Zero contribution to the discussion.

According to Austin Mitchell, he is nearly a Tory.

I wonder why he is a member of the Socialist Campaign Group, a hard left group.
He is not! He left to pursue his real ambition.

From that quote:
"The party and I have never agreed on much,
But that didn’t stop me remaining an MP for nearly 40 years, until 2015."
Austin Mitchell
It did not stop him from crossing the floor either, but his own personal ambitions were more important than his, or the Labour party's, political beliefs.

Wannabe might want to explain where it veers off into eccentric.....oh thats he cant because it doesnt
I did say that "eccentric" was perhaps a little too polite. Treacherous or turncoat may have been more accurate.

some hypocritical post
You think your alter-ego and a**e end's alter-ego should be allowed the monopoly on ad hominem attacks?
Of course you would! You would not have it any other way.
It just demonstrates that when I start identifying eeyore's and gasbag's ( and anyone else's) ad hominem attacks, how quickly you fall into the trap.

How about discussing the issue for once, instead of attacking the person

Ad hominem attack

this discussion is about Austin Mitchells Daily Mail article.

You have dismissed the article because in your words it is written by an eccentric turncoat.

I repeat, the article does not express eccentric views, in fact the views are in large a reasonable outline of where the Labour party is currently. Many, let me repeat that, many of the points raised in the article are in fact views shared amongst others. IE its a common view, not one restricted to a supposedly eccentric Austin Mitchell.

Its interesting to note, you make big a show of disproving what I said, but actually provide zero counter argument. (y)

"The party and I have never agreed on much,

That doesnt prove he had right wing ideology.

Austin Mitchell was an MP of a fishing port, he spent many years csmpaigning against the EU. When he felt Labour werent supportive, he considered euro sceptic options in other parties.

Do you have proof of his right wing ambitions.

He is not! He left to pursue his real ambition

You mean he left the Labour party, not the same thing.

Austin Mitchell was and still maybe a member of the Socialist Campaign group......which is a hard left group ( John McDonnell is a member).
Why would he be a member of a hard left group if he is secretly a Tory?
