Hi, Please can someone help, as we have a Tricity Bendix Si 340 freestanding cooker that in the last few weeks has had a habbit of the back left hob element heating up even if the knob on the front says its off. The rest of the cooker works fine just bit worrying haveing a element coming on whenever. does anyone know what could cause this? and how it could be fixed? not really in a financial position to start getting people out to look/ fix. so any help is welcome. Thanks.

First thing you can check is if the control knob is actually working and gripping the shaft of the simmerstat. Occasionally they wear and do not turn the shaft properly.

Remove the control knob and look at the back is it in good condition, is the hole that goes over the spindle D shaped, is there a small piece of metal inside the D shape.

Look at the control spindle and what position it is at, where is the flat side it is usually in the 12 or 6 o'clock positions (remove the control knobs from different working hobs and check)

Otherwise you are probably looking at a broken simmerstat or switch pack. If you post the PNC (product number) more specific help can be posted.

Thanks for that, Will try to get to look at it today and if i can find product number ill post that aswell. Thanks.
