UK Mains Plug - "Flex Grip" Question

You can get heavy duty plugs which would look better than your plug in the photo. I know Screwfix do them as got some a couple of months back.

I've seen a few alright-looking rubber ones on eBay, quite pricey considering they don't come with strain relief, though.

Plug is Screwfix code: 68744

Or how about rewiring the entire flex: 27122

Though will be able to find the second item much cheaper I should imagine.

Liking the look (and price) of those plugs, actually. Got to go up to my local Jewsons to get a couple of drill bits, so I'll see if they have anything similar at a reasonable price.

Doubt I'll find them in white, but the flex is going to need to be spliced (with black heatshrink finishing) anyway, since modern Masterplug surge protectors can no longer be unscrewed in order to be rewired.

It might look a bit... modern, but it'll be safe. I won't be able to start on this project until my sleeve crimps turn up (apparently they won't be here until the 22nd or 23rd), but I'll post a photo of the end result once I'm done.
