Just a quick question..

I'm going to add another light or two and maybe an additional socket etc in an out building.

The building is currently wired using the old red and black colours so basically, what are the regulations when mixing the new brown and blue T&E?

Is it a case of sleeving the brown red and the blue black? or wire as normal connecting the blue to the black forgetting the colour difference.

Cheers.

in single phase installs (which is probablly all you will have in your house) you do not need to mark at the join between old and new but you are supposed to put a warning label by the CU

Further while you can buy sticky labels at places like TLC, there is nothing to stop you printing out one on paper that can be stuck to the CU with sticky back plastic so long as it is clearly legible, and uses the recognised wording.
