Hi, Myself and my husband are pretty familiar with the 13 year old boiler. Its had three diverter valves. We had the green light flashing and running the hot tap it would not light, the central heating was also the same very intermittent. We looked at the diverter valve and could see the plunger was not moving the valve inside and so we ordered a new diverter valve for £60. We fitted it last night as its such an easy job, we followed the instructions in the manual, turning off the valves etc and draining the water out. We filled the water up again to the right pressure and let the air out of the water pump and bled all the radiators as now the heating was working at full heat and the hot tap worked.
Now we have the same problem again. The green light now flashes again, when trying the warmstart the pump works and it tries to ignite twice then gives up and the green light continues flashing. No fault codes. Sometimes it works and lights on warmstart so I run the hot tap then run upstairs to put shower on and then turn hot tap off.
So its an intermittent fault and we are not sure what the next thing is to replace. Boiler is clean and was serviced last year.
