So it sounds like there's an electrical fault somewhere in the external controls and the boiler isn't always getting a heating demand signal.

What exactly were the nature of the heating problems and did the boiler ever display any fault codes?

Hello

About 30% of the time during winter 2008 the heating would not start with no F number, the installer told me to turn off the boiler and reset the room thermostat which I did but this I had to do several times taking up to an hour in some cases, in winter 2009 the same occurred again no F number but also the pipe leak with F22 which was repaired but still the same problems starting after repair, the winter of 2010 60% of the time I could not start the boiler again with no F number, also the radiator or flashing radiator symbol on the LCD screen does not appear, the boiler has provided hot water at all times and the tap symbol appears on the LCD screen immediately and every time.
In December 2009 and realising I had an unreliable Vaillant boiler I was not prepared to go through another cold winter so I purchased a wood burner for the main room of the house and 4 electric radiators and 2 fan heaters.

Sounds like one of these rubbish wireless thermostat faults.
Have it removed and have a proper wired thermostat installed.
That will fix it. One of the reasons I don't install wireless thermostats.

Hello

I can do away with the room thermostat by placing a connection on the board, is this okay?

Yes you can make the connection on the board so the boiler will
be working without an external thermostat.
Just buy a cheap wired thermostat and connect it with some cable into the circuit board. Much more reliable than this wireless nonsense.

Simple reply for you bonus incentive

Not in my case , lost a few installs due to insisting on a vaillant (cost), is it so bad to have the customers interests in mind? , I fit them because they are a reliable good boiler , nothing more nothing less.

Well ur in my neck of the woods I don't get incentives and if u did ur research properly u would find Vaillant r way and above all the others the best boilers, they do this because the products superb reliability sells itself it doesn't need to give incentives to installers, I suggest u get ur slf a proper service repair engineer an MY HAMMER !! Ffs!, a bloody site for Internet warriors where some pay to be on there to buy work ?
