Homemade, batch made, cottage pie, from the freezer. The carrots were a bit al dente, having previous pies from the batch, so it was given an extra hour on a low gas. That turned out just fine, combined with chips, peas and gravy..

Whole sea bream with Mediterranean vegetables. Too many bones for my liking. We both had a toasted seeded bagel for dessert 'cos we were still hungry!

Maybe if you toasted the sea bream you may have had less bones.

I've never had sea bream. Is it like a trout, where you can hopefully pull the backbone out after cooking?

Fish 'n' chips, wally and an onion. Fish was so big I had to break it in half to get it on the plate.

A basa fillet, smothered in hot salsa and oven-baked. Grate some mature cheddar over and let that melt.

Serve with mixed beans, shredded lettuce and chopped tomatoes.

Chicken risotto. Every day, Avril, puts me on the spot, to ask me what I fancy for dinner the next day, so she can attempt to organise it. Stuck for ideas, I plucked out of the air - chicken risotto. I'd never made it from scratch, nor had she, so she Googled and came up with an authentic recipe....

She had collected the ingredients, we'd had a roast chicken for Sunday dinner, with a breast going spare, so she decided to make the risotto yesterday, for dinner. It turned out absolutely spot on. ;)
