Downlights In plasterboard ceiling With insulation

Hi,
I want to install 6x downlighters (230v 40 watts)
They are to go into a platserboard celing with double insulation in the gaps between the joist and another layer over that....
I no these lights give off quite a lot of heat and need some room above them..Any Ideas how I can install these as safe as possible?

Youll need to clear away the insulation and give the light some breathing space or the lamps will not last very long.
If you have access to the ceiling from above, fit plaster boxes or these round the lights http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/TLALC724.html

you still need to clear some room above the fitting but I'd suggest fitting these;

Screw Fix also do well priced Fire Rated Downlighter Hoods.

As well as meeting regs it is also a small price to pay for safety.

You can meet regs without using any fire protective equipment whatsoever. Stop wasting peoples money.
