My Puma 80 has got to be replaced as it has one too many faults, it runs a 3 bed semi and when it was working okay could only be faulted when two hot taps or the washing machine were used at the same time.

Worcester Bosch,Ideal Boiler and Valliant have been suggested (by friends in the bulding trade) does anyone here have a favoured boiler from these?

What would I expect to pay for the removal of old and fitting of new?

Many thanks.

Vaillant ecotec pro 28 or ecotecplus 831 would be my choice. 3yr warranty from vhs direct. Supply and fit approx £2250 for the pro28, £2500 for the 831 plus.

Vaillant, Viessmann, ATAG and Worcester are good boilers.
Avoid Ideal.
ATAG is the best followed by Viessmann and Vaillant.
Also consider Broag Remeha.
I would only use Worcester if there was no other boiler that could fit or something like that.

I would agree with the above but would put Vaillant in front of Viessmann.

ATAG are excellent, but in my mind not always suitable for kitchen installations as they are too deep off the wall.

Have a look at the E32C.

In my area Worcester are highly overrated, customers are told that Worcester is the best and little do they know that there are so many better manufacturers than Worcester. A lot of installers only install Worcester and will not let customers choose a better boiler. No one that I know off installs ATAG, Broag and Viessmann. I called an installer from the Vaillant website and he wanted to fit an Alpha!

Thanks for replies, guess i will avoid Ideal then! Valliant fares well with most so I will head in that direction. Now to find a fitter!

why not a glowworm ultracom basically a vaillant inside just the digi programers a pain in the bottom.

Apart from the HE, gas valve, wiring connections, filling loop, etc etc etc

the filling loop on the ultracom is the same as the ecotec's. The pcb, h/exch, plate to plate, diverter valve (brass on vaillant, plastic on gw), pump, fan, wiring loom, display, etc are different though.

Not the right hand connection that goes onto the water inlet block. This is a solid brass 90d connector on the ultracom, whereas the ecotec is fully flexible and a LOT easier to fit, as you would know

fair enough you are right but it is very similar.

For some reason I always struggle to fit the Ultracom's filling loop at this end, whereas the Vaillant is a piece of pee
