Issue with my boiler

I have recently replaced the fan on my boiler, but now it only works properly when I leave the cover off it, otherwise it works for a few secconds, in that it lights up, then it turns of, (the flames go out) i can then hear it try to light, then after a few secconds it relights, also when this happenes the door to the kitchen can be heard tapping back and forth slightly, so i'm guessing its not getting enough air for some reason.

is there any thing i should be looking for?

We don't even know the make and model of the boiler, so I think we shouldn't be jumping to conclusions - even if those conclusions turn out to be correct.
