We have a 50s bungalow with a loft conversion done in the 60s. The BT line enters the upstairs through a window frame and hits a junction box. The cable then hangs down the wall, across the floor to another junction box. It then goes behind the wall to the master socket on the gound floor.
We're currently renovating this upstairs room as a child's bedroom and really want to limit the cables and junction boxes on show.
Should we get BT out? Given that there is no fault, would we pay heavily?
Is there something we can do? Can we replace with modern neater junction boxes?
Or is it feasible to bury all the boxes and/or cables in the plasterboard and behind skirting? Or do the boxes have to be on show? The wires are visible on the outside of the boxes.
Thanks in advance.
