Hi,

Planning on fitting a new toilet this weekend. Want to pick up the bits from Screwfix on the way home.

However... like a donut I forgot to measure the size of the threaded cistern inlet connection.

Are these a standard size? If so, what's it likely to be? I think 1/2" or 3/4", which means I have a worse than 50% chance of getting it right!

Cheers

Lovely. Nice & Quick.

Thanks a lot - I would have gone for 3/4 by looking at my ruler, so you saved me an extra trip!

Cheers!

thats right if the diameter measures 3/4" it willbe 1/2" bsp thread that you want.

Don't forget to install an isolator valve for the WC cistern.

Thanks for the tip

Actually there's one there already, but it has had a fair bit of use and doesn't shut properly any more. Was considering taking it off and using a flexi-hose with built in isolator.

Would it be better to replace the isolater and use a standard flexi hose.

What's the chance of being able to use the existing olive and nut on the pipe without leaks?

up to you use a flexi with isolator or have isolator then a flexi.

olive and nut should be ok if it hasn't been over tightened.
i useally just clean them up with a bit of wire wool and jointing compound all ok.
