stair lift!!

I think i should have explained a little!

We have a cumbria mk 2 dc stair lift and we are having problems getting it going after replacing the batterys! im not sure if there is a reset procedure that needs to be followed or if there could be something else wrong! there doesn't appear to be much to this machine, its just a pcb board with all the usual gubbings, some led's, which the red one is constantly flashing! which cant be good. and there are a bucket full of micro interlock switch,s. I tested all the micro switch,s and they are ok. i've tested the motor all ok there!.so the only thing that i can think of is there.s a fault on the dc side of things and thats why i wonder if there is a reset procedure after installing the battery,s. we tried to get some info from the place it was bought from some time ago but they did not want to tell us anything! and wanted to send an engineer out, and said if it was the battery,s it would be £95.00 so might be more now  so i bought a new pair of battery,s myself at the cost of around £7.00. this unit is not used at the moment but would like it running for when my mother visits as a just in case option to get upstairs.

does anybody know or have any good experience with these??

Well they work, if that's what you mean  AFAIK, there is little to go wrong

But these are a salesman's dream and the contracts are normally full of clauses for maintenance and tie-ins with certain repairers.

The rep may also offer to buy the lift back at favourable rates if no longer needed (eg if the users go into a home or pass away), but then the resale figure magically changes and you get hit with "de-installation" costs.

I've known many of these lifts needing to be removed for one or or reasons, and it was actually cheaper to just rip it out and skip it, rather than de-install and try and sell it on.
