hot water going up cold feed into cwsc

hi all, i have hot water going up the cold feed from indirect cylinder into the cwsc? any ideas

from what i know, that is normal as on heating up the water in the cylinder expands a little bit and thus goes back up the cold feed pipe and into the cold water tank.

is it constant and making the cws tank overflow ?

the cwsc is overflowing everytime hot water is called for?

is the small f/e tank higher than the large cws ?

probably a faulty mixer tap then. does it happen when you open a hot tap or all the time even if the hot tap is closed?

edit: if ht e smaller tank is higher, could be a hole in your hot water cylinder. is the water from the cold taps fed from the cwsc dis coloured?

the cwsc is above the indirect cylinder in the bathroom F&e is in the attic

is the cwsc above the cylinder constantly re-filling?? listen for splashing water sounds...

fit check valves on the supply to both and that should sort it.

if you say only when called for as in switching the hw on to heat up then the coil has gone in the cylinder passing water from f/e to cws.

check if the f/e ball valve is running when the cws is filling

are the cold supplies to the mixer bath and basin taps fed from the cwsc or fed direct from a mains supply pipe? is the pressure at the cold a lot more powerful than on the hot side to them?
