I am hoping someone here can help me!
I seem to have air in my hot water system somewhere. It really causes a problem when using one of our power showers. The water dies and the motors start screaming as it struggles to get hot water.
We have a traditional vented system with a header tank.

I have tried draining the system.

Any help/ideas would be great!

Thanks.

Sounds as though you're running out of water or it's not connected right.

the hot water tank is 114 litres.
it used to work ok and even with a full tank it will happen very quickly.

and yes one pump is connected to the cylinder and the other is connected to the water pipes that go to my main bathroom shower.

flow the hot from the shower where abouts is it connected to on the hot water cylinder pipework ?
is it a new install ?

How big is the cold water storage tank ( in the loft)?
Is the cold water storage tank filling up or does this happen after/during a long shower?
How high is the cold water storage tank above the cylinder?
What temperature is the hot water set at?
Is there a Surrey/Warix flange on the outlet at the top of the hot water storage cylinder?

karl... i believe the top of the cylinder.
the ensuite is new but the bathroom has been refurbed and a pump fitted 2 years ago.

onetap.
not sure, on capacity, i would say over 100 litres.
cold should fill up as and when needed.
cylinder is probably 4 foot below the tank.
the hotwater has something strapped to the side which shows 45 c
no flange at the top of the storage cylinder.

thats the cyl stat on the side of cyl should be set at about 60c.
i would supply the pump off a surrey flange rather than the dhw supply out of the cylinder.
its drawing the air in rather than going up the vent pipe which a flange will stop this happening.
