Thats better i am glad you are learning about the limitations of the worcester Bosch boilers

Even though Main is part of the Baxi group, this particuliar boiler is the cheap end of the market and utilises an ALI Hex , you will be alot better off with stainless steel heat exchanger and five year standard warranty

Available from

Ariston

Baxi

Remeha

vailliant

Veissman

Just to mention a few

Viessmann have had big problems with customer service and with faulty boilers i read a post where it said 80% were faulty .
i haven't fitted one but its just what i have heard.

the stainless steel heat exchanger have had many problems in Vaillant and Baxi .
also the vaillant boilers can set themself on fire .

i could go on and pick faults with everything you say but i don't see the point.

in answer to the question most of the manufactures have had problems with the boilers they make but as i said at the start if you stick with the big names you are more likely to get a good boiler.
but the most important thing is how it is installed .
if installed correctly even the worst boilers will last longer

i have never once said i am the most knowlegable guy on the forum can you tell me where i put that please.

Saunier Duval are a vaillant boiler as is glowworm so not sure what your point is ?

lots of manufactures own other brands but it doesn't mean there all as good as each other

you can say what you like about BG but one thing for sure is they know a lot more about boilers than you do.

Sorry, but I thought you were a BG employee??!!!

a company that fits over 100000 boiler every year is going to know more than somebody who might fit between 10 to 80 boilers a year.
it just makes sense to me .
Also the old guys that have been there 30/40 years .

i did work for bg but have just left as i dont want to work as much.
i only plan to work 2 days a week .

so i know a lot about BG and a lot of what people say are ture but taken out of context .
BG complaints as a % are very low but they have a lot of customers .

plumbers slate bg but the truth is most plumbers do not install central heating correctly (not all)so as a % plumbers are much worse in my opinion.

Yes people do slag off British Gas and some of it is the truth and some not warranted

Bit like you blatant attacks on the plumbers and other heating engineers, what you want to get into that thick skull of yours now is you are just another plumber cum boiler man, just like the rest of us and dont have British Gas behind you

There are good and bad installers here in the independent market and we being small company working in certain area will make sure our work is to very high standard, being an employer i know that it is of utmost importance to our reputation that we do an exemplry job,a good reputation takes a long time to achieve ,and can be lost in moments

It seems you are here to bash the independents ,and advertise how great your former employer is,we are here to address a balance

i have not said if you are good or bad i couldnt possibly know this could i ?

but i am how ever speaking from the many hundreds of jobs i go to after plumbers have fitted them .
i know there are good plumbers / heating engineers out there many are EX british gas engineers .
it would not be in my interest to slag off plumbers and promote BG as i am myself now just a plumber but i will always state my opinion as i see it.
i could quote many storys but i havnt got the time .

think we will have to agree to disagree on this one .
take it easy .

Thanks for your opinions but has anybody installed or had experience
of the MAIN combi 25 eco. Rather than, what they think.

i havnt fitted one and i would never fit one been to alot of faultys one though.

The main eco band A boiler was released about 5 months ago and has the same innards as the new baxi bbu as welll as few potterton models ,not a personal favourite i saw it the baxi training day

Alot of landlords do like the main band b boiler though, very reliable and all tried and tested components

All main products are tried and tested though ,the way baxi works is all premium gear is branded as Baxi, then potterton and as it gets older it goes over to Main .

i suppose for 550 quid including flue and timer it is good value too
