Any work you do should be to the latest regs and the current version should be put in the 'amended to' space (ie 2008).

so would i put 2008 even if the ccu is not 17th eddition? i went to a job and what it was, 70% of the ring main was damaged due to a break in on an empty house, i put new legs on the ring main and put it back on the rcd side but i put some new legs on the lighting circuit , but that was on the none rcd side, so would that still come under the 17th because the lights are not rcd protected many thanks the installation is just 2 year old

You're not certifying the whole installation, only the bits that you did, which should have been to the 17th.

If you added, for example, unprotected switch drops at <50 then you should have made sure they were RCD protected.
