Hi, im looking for a double pull light switch for my bathroom. Im not sure if this is what it is called, i need a pull switch to firstly turn on the light, then when pulled again to turn on the fan, or its just one pull but it depends on how far you pull as to whether or not they both come on. i think i have seen these in hospitals. any ideas as to what these are called and where i might find one? cheers.

no such animal as far as I'm aware..

what are you trying to do?

are you sure that the fan's wern't just the type with built in run on timers?

pull it once, the light and fan come on, pull it again the light goes off but the fan remains on?

My fan is the run on type but i dont want to use electic when fon is not needed and i dont want switches everywhere, i'm sure i have used a dual action pull switch but i'm not sure where.

if it's run on then it needs to be run on.. it's like that for a reason..

you need it to run on to clear the smells and steam from various bathroom activities.

yes i agree, but i dont need the fan to be on every time i go in the bathroom

and will you remenber to turn it back on the next time you do need it?

fan's don't use anywhere near as much energy as you think they do..
that extra 5 mins won't put your bill up by hundreds of pounds a year you know..

Then your only option is to remove the permanent live feed to the fan which supplies the timer overun. But if you do this then the fan will always switch off when you switch the light off. If you wanted the fan to stay on you would have to leave the light on...
