I have been following a thread on another forum regarding polarity of supply with respect to operation of connected appliences... Is there ANY AC applence that will not work correctly when connected either way across an AC supply ?

I think some boilers won't work with reversed polarity?!?!
I think they might reference to earth on the PCB

you think correctly nozspark
interlinked smoke alarms are another example as the correct polarity must be maintained after the first unit

Yes but if they are all connected the same way with respect to each other. does it matter which way they are connected to the supply?
